Gary Holliday
Senior Vice President
Service Lloyds and Service Life
Gary became involved in retail early in life working in the family-owned retail motorboat business in Austin, Texas. After high school, he continued to work in the family business on a full-time basis while earning a BBA in Marketing from the University of Texas. He was serving as General Manager when the business was sold in 1981, whereupon he decided to further his education by earning a second business degree in Accounting, also from the University of Texas. Upon receiving his certification as a Certified Public Accountant, he spent several years working in the Tax and Audit Departments at Price Waterhouse (now Price Waterhouse Coopers).
Service Group was fortunate enough to have Gary manage their account at Price Waterhouse for several years. Impressed with his skills and versatility, Service Group offered Gary the position of Chief Financial Officer in 1985. Since joining Service Group, Gary has managed the financial and tax reporting requirements for all of the Service Group companies. In addition, he has been responsible for the management of numerous producer-owned reinsurance companies and other vehicles for maximizing automobile dealer profitability. With his unique combination of experience in both marketing and accounting disciplines, Gary is able to successfully bridge the gap between retail business reality and the sometimes confusing rules of insurance and tax accounting.
Gary recently celebrated his 25
th
year of marriage and lives in Austin with his wife, Heidi, and two children, Chris and Andy. He is a prime example of the rich and varied experience offered by Service Group employees, and we are privileged to have him on our team.
